In short
- There is no account. Your numbers live in the page address and the site keeps no copy.
- Google ads, if a page has them, load only after you accept. Google may then set cookies.
- Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.
To work out a loan or the cost of a purchase you enter a price, a loan amount, sometimes your income. That is private information. This site is built so it never needs to know who you are and keeps none of those numbers.
No account, no copy of your numbers
You do not sign up or log in. Every calculation runs in your browser, on your own device, and the site keeps no copy. The numbers you enter are not written to a cookie or to your browser’s storage. When you open a link, your browser sends its address to the site’s host, as it does for any web page.
Your numbers live in the link
Each time you enter a valid value, the address in your browser’s bar changes with it. The part after the “?” holds the numbers and choices you entered, with no name, email or identifier.
That means:
- Open the same link again and you see the same result. Bookmarking it is how you save a calculation.
- Sending the link to someone sends them those numbers. Anyone with the link can see them.
- The link sits in your browser history like any page you have visited. Use a private window on a shared computer.
Country suggestion
When you open a page, the site guesses your country or region from the time zone and language set on your device. The guess runs only in your browser and does not use your IP address; nothing is sent or stored. If it differs from the page’s market, a strip at the top of the page suggests a switch. The figures change only when you choose a country yourself and press Continue.
Counting page views
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies. Apart from it and the ads described below, the site loads no third-party scripts: no social buttons, no fonts from outside servers.
Ads (Google AdSense)
Some pages may show ads from Google AdSense, but only after you accept them in a banner at the bottom of the page. If you have not seen that banner, no ad code has been loaded.
Once you press “Accept ads”, Google may set cookies to show and measure ads. Google explains how it uses this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google shows its own consent message, and ads follow the choice you make there.
You can turn off personalized Google ads in Google Ads Settings. If you press “Don’t show ads”, the site loads no ads at all. To change your choice later, see the section on where it is stored, below.
Partner links (AccessTrade)
Some links, for example under a mortgage result, may be partner links through the AccessTrade network. If you follow one and use that service, the site may earn a commission. The figures stay the same whether you click or not. When you click, you leave this site and the other site’s privacy policy applies.
Where your ad choice is stored
When you press either button in the banner, your choice is saved in this browser’s storage (localStorage) so the site does not ask again on every page. It is not sent to a server and does not follow you to another browser or device. Until you press a button, nothing is saved.
To change your mind, clear the site data for homecalc.info in your browser’s privacy settings. The banner comes back the next time you open a page, and you can choose again.
